The greatest sea-change in movie technology from the mid-to-late 1970s was the introduction of high-speed bulk release-printing first facilitated by Technicolor. Coppola protégés George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, with films like Jaws - Zanuck/Brown Company & Universal Pictures, and Star Wars: Episode 4 – A New Hope - Lucasfilm, created blockbusters that capitalized on the new paradigm in theatrical exhibition based on massive print runs.
